Math in Our World: Hiking Wells Reserve

The stretch of Laudholm Beach that they hike is .42 miles. From the parking lot to the intersection with Laird-Norton and Pilger Trails, the Barrier Beach trail is .39 miles. From there to Laudholm Beach is another .23 miles. The section of the Laird Norton Trail between the Barrier Beach Trail and the Cart Path is .42 miles. The section of the Laird Norton Trail that meets the Saw-whet Owl Trail is .33 miles. The Saw-whet Owl trail is .19 miles. The Cart Path is .25 miles. The section of the Pilger Trail between the Barrier Beach Trail and the Laudholm Connector is .25 miles. The section of the Pilger Trail that connects to the Muskie Trail is .34 miles. The Muskie Trail is .65 miles. The  Laudholm connecter is .15 miles. The Knight's Trail that runs between the Barrier Beach Trail and the Pilger Trail is .40 miles.

In our family, we hike a lot. One of the places we like to hike is called the Wells Reserve. It has trails through the woods, on boardwalks, and down to the beach.

If we don’t have much time, we hike straight down the Barrier Beach Trail to Laudholm Beach, and then come back. But sometimes we wander around on longer hikes.
